Four UNC global health abstracts selected for presentation at APHA annual meeting

Four abstracts of work conducted by faculty members and students at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health have been accepted for presentation at the 138th annual American Public Health Association Meeting and Exposition, to be held Nov. 6-10 in Denver.
The abstracts describe global health curricula projects led by Margaret (Peggy) Bentley, PhD, professor of nutrition and associate dean for global health at the School; Bruce Fried, PhD, associate professor of health policy and management; Rohit Ramaswamy, PhD, Gillings Visiting Clinical Associate Professor in the Public Health Leadership Program; Gretchen Van Vliet, MPH, Director of the Office of Global Health; and others. “We’re delighted to be able to make such a substantive showing at the APHA meeting to feature our new global health programs. Our School has made globalizing the curricula a priority, and having our abstracts accepted represents the importance of a global focus among schools of public health,” Bentley said.The selected abstracts include:
