January 14 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Navigation

The Department of Health Behavior is hosting an upcoming talk by doctoral student Iliya Gutin on weight-neutrality in research on body size and health. This presentation will review the limitations of how body size is used in public health research and practice, and discuss how body size can become imbued with social meaning and stereotypes, leading to mistreatment, inequality, and poor health. All who are activated by the issue of weight stigma are welcome to join.
