Nutrition 75th Anniversary Speaker Series: Dr. Mercedes Carnethon

Please join the Department of Nutrition for a lecture with Mercedes Carnethon, PhD, (’00 epidemiology), vice-chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Mary Harris Thompson Professor of Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology) and Medicine (Pulmonary and Critical Care) at Northwestern University. Dr. Carnethon’s research focuses on the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes, lung health and cognitive aging among under-researched populations. Her work investigates the link between nutrition and subjects’ health over their lifetimes — such as her recent project examining diet quality and cardiometabolic risk factors in adolescents living in Brazil and the U.S.

This lecture will be the second installment of the Department of Nutrition’s 75th Anniversary Speakers Series.
