Dr. Bhatnagar has been at the forefront of research on the environmental determinants of cardiovascular health for over 25 years. His work focuses on the mechanisms by which oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation contribute to myocardial ischemic injury, atherosclerosis, and the cardiovascular toxicity of environmental aldehydes. He has led significant studies, including the Green Heart Project, which examines the health effects of urban greenness.
