Health directors, local elected officials, health department finance, human resource, and health education directors, and community partners attended the first regional forum on employee clinics and worksite wellness initiatives, hosted by the South Central Partnership for Public Health (SCPPH) at the NC Zoo Stedman Education Center in Asheboro, NC.

Featured was a panel discussion in which panelists described the populations they serve, how their clinics got started, clinic services provided, money saved, provider set-up, physical location, pharmaceutical services provided, challenges, and success stories.

The South Central Partnership for Public Health is part of the Incubator Collaboratives (NC PHICs) which are teams of local health departments working together voluntarily to address pressing public health issues. They share resources and ideas to–

  • Increase level and effectiveness of services delivered
  • Increase shared resources across local health departments
  • Increase equity of service delivery to incubator populations
  • Increase opportunity to solve common problems
  • Improve Health Outcomes of North Carolina Citizens
  • Foster Innovation

The NC Institute for Public Health is the administrator of the incubator collaborative project, supported by funds from the NC General Assembly. Read about other public health projects “incubating” in North Carolina.
