Dr. Weathers to serve on National Advisory Council on Migrant Heatlth
Andrea Weathers MD, MPH, DrPH, MCH Assistant Professor, has accepted the invitation of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Michael O. Leavitt, to serve a 4-year term on the National Advisory Council on Migrant Health. The Council advises the Secretary on policies to increase the effectiveness of migrant health centers in delivering primary health care to migrant and seasonal farmworkers. In addition to advising the Secretary, the Council also makes specific recommendations on matters that affect the health of migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families, such as occupational safety, housing conditions, medical and social services, and domestic and family violence services. |
