Healthy from Head to Heels — E-book version

What is an e-book?

An e-book (also called an electronic book or digital book) is a publication that can be read on electronic devices such as e-readers, iPads, smart phones and computers. E-books are most commonly downloaded to portable devices so that the user can read the publication in any location. Internet access is required only during the downloading.
Although personal computers also can be used to read e-books, most computer users prefer to read our flip book or PDF versions of the magazine. By contrast, e-books are plain, with limited images and graphics, so that the fluid text can be reformatted to fit the size and shape of any electronic device or window.

As an experiment, the School developed the fall 2010 issue of Carolina Public Health magazine into an e-book version.

We are interested in finding out if our readers would like us to develop future issues of the magazine into this format.

We welcome you to try the e-reader, then send your suggestions or comments to jerry.salak@unc.edu.
