Welcome table at the Hello Mama Hello Baby! Health Fair
BEBES hosted “Hello Mama Hello Baby!” health fair in April for prenatal and postpartum families in the local area. Community partners set up tables to share their resources with new mothers, and a participant goodie-bag contained samples of mama-friendly goods as well as a printed resources guide for the area that BEBES put together. We are proud to report that the fair was compliant with the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes! Congratulations to BEBES on this accomplishment.

The students have wrapped up their Spring semester and are now engaged in their summer internships, or have graduated and are starting new futures as Tarheel alumni. Kathy Parry, staff advisor to the group, attended the Joan Gillings Distinguished Student Leaders Appreciation Luncheon with Kimberly Hoang and Valerie Lansdale, BEBES’ past-presidents. The event was held at UNC’s historic Carolina Inn, with Dean Rimer and Joan Gillings offering their thanks to the students’ volunteer work in their respective organizations.
