Eight faculty members selected as 2017 ‘Celebrate Teaching!’ awardees

March 24, 2017 Eight faculty members were selected by their students to receive the 2017 “Celebrate Teaching!” Award. The annual award honors those “who have inspired students; enhanced student learning through creative, engaging and innovative teaching methods; and supported students’ academic success and professional development.”

Cilenti named interim health director for Orange County

March 2, 2017 Dr. Dorothy Cilenti has been named interim director of the Orange County health department, effective March 1. A clinical associate professor of maternal and child health at the Gillings School, Cilenti also directs the National Maternal Child Health Workforce Development Center.

Figueroa, Ochs and Reilly chosen for Staff Excellence Award

Angelica Figueroa, executive assistant to the dean, Andrew Ochs, instructional web developer in IIS, and Cindy Reilly, student services manager for the Public Health Leadership Program, received the Gillings School's 2016 Staff Excellence Award on Nov. 3. This year is the first in which there was more than one awardee.

Gillings Merit Scholars and Gillings Dissertation Awards announced

August 17, 2016 Sixteen students at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health have been selected as 2016-2017 recipients of Gillings Merit Scholarships or Gillings Dissertation Awards.
