Rozier, Weintraub co-author oral health paper commissioned by National Academies’ Roundtable on Health Literacy
February 22, 2018 Drs. Gary Rozier and Jane Weintraub are co-authors of a comprehensive paper on the integration of oral health, primary care and health literacy. The commissioned work is part of a series of papers aimed at informing, inspiring and activating the development, implementation and sharing of evidence-based health literacy practices and policies.
Malone named 2018 Future Faculty Fellow

Chemotherapy before surgery found cost-effective in patients with advanced ovarian cancer
January 24, 2018 In the short term, neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) was found to be more cost-efficient than primary surgery in women with advanced stage epithelial ovarian cancer. Additionally, NACT resulted in a greater boost to quality-adjusted life-years per patient.
Prescribing fresh, nutritious food will improve health of low-income, high-risk patients

Dilworth-Anderson awarded USC’s Pearmain Prize for Excellence in Research on Aging
December 5, 2017 Dr. Peggy Dilworth-Anderson was awarded the 2018 Pearmain Prize for Excellence in Research on Aging by the University of Southern California Roybal Institute on Aging. The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the field of translational aging research and its import to issues directly relating to older people.
Alumnus Min Yang named Schwarzman Scholar
December 5, 2017 Min Yang, who received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree in health policy and management at the Gillings School, has been selected for the Schwarzman Scholars program, an elite China-based scholarship modeled after the Rhodes Scholarship and founded by Blackstone co-founder and chief executive officer Stephen A. Schwarzman.
