Gillings professor among University awardees
The annual Phillip and Ruth Hettleman Prizes for Artistic and Scholarly Achievement have been awarded to five promising faculty members who exemplify groundbreaking and innovative research along with future career promise. Julia Rager, Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering was among those awarded by UNC. Read more here.

New study on Breastfeeding and HIV Exposure in Zambia released
A new study featuring Gillings students and professors has been published. Stephanie L. Martin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition, helped publish a study the effects of breastfeeding between in HIV exposed and unexposed children in Zambia. Read more.
Surratt receives funding for aerosol research
Professor Jason Surratt, Professor in Environmental Sciences and Engineering has received funding from the Facilities Integrating Collaborations for User Science (FICUS), an organization with a focus on scientists’ fundamental biological and environmental research. Surratt’s project studying aerosols was among them. Read more.
