Epidemiology Professor lead authors publication on traffic crash reduction initiatives.
Epidemiology Professor Kelly Evenson, PhD, is the lead author on a mixed-methods study for Vision Zero (VZ), which aims to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from road traffic crashes to zero through multidisciplinary coordination. Dr. Evenson’s article has been published in the July 2024 issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice and is available now. Read more here.
Political polarization, partisanship and its effect on public health.
Jonathan Oberlander, PhD in the department of Health Policy and Management recently published an article on how the political landscape in the United States affects the many facets of the lives of its citizens. Among them, its effect on public health and how political struggles over health care laws, such as the Affordable Care Act and the COVID-19 pandemic, are fought on increasingly partisan grounds. The article also explores how this partisanship can affect health behaviors and, in some cases, impact their health outcomes. Read more about this study here.
