About

Sarah started her career as an intern for High Country Community Health, conducting outreach in Christmas tree farm communities and providing health resources to migrant farm workers. She moved to Colombia in 2015 and worked as an English teacher in various positions. In 2019, she moved to a remote community on the coast of Colombia to help start up a local human development project. She returned to the United States to combat health disparities at home, joining the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) as a Program Assistant in March 2020. Drawing from her anthropology degree and experience working with other cultures, Sarah aims to address disparities in health equity in communities across North Carolina. She has been admitted to UNC’s EQUITY program at the Gillings School for Global Public Health.
