My work focuses on the health effects of structural racism and socioeconomic disparities in the U.S., particularly in the neighborhood and built environment contexts. I study the effects of these disparities on adolescent health behavior, harm exposure, and health outcomes throughout the life course. I have a background in urban planning and nutrition program evaluation and development, and currently focus on the food and tobacco retail environments. With my research, I aim to contribute to chronic disease prevention and reduction of inequities in chronic disease incidence and outcomes.
