Dr. Egsegian is currently the Dean of the Public Service programs and the Program Director of the Fire Protection program and the Emergency Management program with Durham Technical Community College. In addition to his appointment in HPM, he is also an adjunct instructor with Campbell University and Western Carolina University.

He has over 35 years’ experience in emergency services and his career in post-secondary education as an instructor and administrator spans 20 years. He holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration with a specialization in Homeland Security Response and Coordination from Walden University; an MEd in Training and Development from North Carolina State University; and a BS in Biology from Methodist University. He also holds a graduate certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program from the National Fire Academy.
