About

Rachel Berthiaume, MPH, is the deputy director for distance education of RWJF’s Clinical Scholars. Clinical Scholars is centered on developing a network of innovative, interdisciplinary leaders working to create a nation where everyone can reach their best possible health and well-being. Rachel served in the Peace Corps in Madagascar (2004-2006), as a community health worker assisting with the local health center’s efforts in a rural village. She has worked to support HIV/AIDS/STI prevention and treatment programs at health clinics in sub-Saharan Africa in work done through GSGPH’s Department of Epidemiology. She has also managed implementation and evaluation projects in Philadelphia and Lansing, examining intersections between communities and public agencies to improve maternal and child health service delivery and to support individuals’ efforts to practice healthy behaviors.
