After contracting with the Gillings School's Advancement Office for a year and managing several projects, Rachel Makson joined the team on a permanent basis in March 2016 as assistant director of development. Beginning in April 2017, Rachel became Gillings School's Assistant Campaign Director. In this role, she manages the advancement office’s communication strategies, including preparations for the campaign, and provides major gift management support to fundraising staff in the areas of planning, metrics and analytics.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Makson worked on development teams at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay in Boston and Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, Ma. She also spent a year in Huelva, Spain, teaching English. Rachel graduated from Connecticut College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in architectural studies.
