Martha Carlough, MD, MPH, is professor emerita at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was on clinical faculty for many years and founded and directed the Office of Global Health Education in the School of Medicine. She has more than 30 years of experience in global health and development work including nine years in Nepal. Dr. Carlough has an adjunct appointment in maternal and child health and continues to care for patients and work in community health through Samaritan Health Center in Durham, N.C.
