Maihan Vu is director of formative research and director of the Qualitative Research Unit for the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She also serves as a qualitative research specialist for the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center's Communications for Health Applications and Interventions (CHAI) Core.
Dr. Vu leads various formative and process evaluation components for community-based intervention research studies. She has expertise in qualitative research methods; program evaluation with an emphasis on formative assessment and process evaluation; development and evaluation of community based interventions for promoting health behaviors; factors affecting patient and provider decision making; and innovative applications of strategies for translating evidence into practice. She has been involved in qualitative training for numerous multi-site NIH and CDC studies.
