After graduating from UNC in 2017, Laura worked for UNC Project Malawi in Lilongwe for 2 years on the S4 study (safety, suppression, second-line, survival) at Bwaila FHU, and a rural cervical cancer screening pilot. Afterward Laura spent three years working with various non-profit organizations in North America consulting on strategic clarity (Planned Parenthood Toronto, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, World Federation of Hemophilia, United Way Canada Centraide, Distress Centre Calgary and Jack.org). During this time she completed her MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from LSHTM (unfortunately, remotely). Her thesis evaluated a randomized control trial, implementing an anti-microbial hand towel (the SuperTowel) and accompanying communications campaign in an IDP camp in Northeastern Nigeria.
