About

Laura Kelly serves as an adjunct professor for the Gillings School of Global Public Health. She was trained in demography at the University of Pennsylvania and in public health at Emory University. Dr. Kelly's expertise is in demography and quantitative social science. Her research includes work in maternal and child health, smoking and substance abuse, social networks, geospatial analyses and the implications of social determinants of health factors throughout the life course. She has worked in the United States, India, sub-Saharan Africa and Europe for both primary and secondary data collection and analyses.

Dr. Kelly is a strategy and analytics consultant within Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice. Prior to joining Deloitte, she worked as a demographer in the Division of Reproductive Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she led projects to conduct population-wide censuses and sample surveys in Zambia and Uganda.
