About

Jaime O'Brien is the Research Compliance Coordinator for the Gillings School of Public Health. She serves as an educational resource and liaison to Gillings faculty for questions regarding the research compliance landscape and its various policies and regulations. 

Jaime's academic background is in bioethics with a specialization in research ethics. Her professional background includes academic and government Institutional Review Board experience, as well as experience in hospital-based Human Research Protection Programs. Prior to joining the Gillings Research Team, Jaime was working on her PhD in Health Care Ethics focusing on drug approval regulations and clinical trial equity.

Staff/Administrative Duties

- Assist Gillings faculty in navigating various research compliance regulations and policies

- Educate the Gillings community on research compliance procedures and update researchers on emerging literature, laws, and policies within the research landscape

- Serve as a liaison for Gillings Research and other relevant University offices
