About

Courtney Summey is an Infant/Toddler Child Care Health Consultant for the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center. In this role, Courtney supports local child care health consultants (CCHC) and early educators by connecting them with community health resources as well as providing the most up-to-date and evidence-based practices related to children’s health and safety. In addition, she provides technical assistance and training. 

With more than 16 years of early childhood experience, Courtney has worked in a variety of settings and roles which include supporting children and their families by promoting early access to care and best practices related to the health and safety of children. Courtney has an extensive background working with children with special healthcare needs and recognizes the importance of inclusivity as well as trauma informed care. During her years in the field, she has built relationships with many community partners and maintains these relationships. 

Staff/Administrative Duties

As an infant/toddler child care health consultant, Courtney supports early childhood educators and child care facilities by providing consultation, technical assistance, and training. She also provides leadership in the assessment and development of child care health services and conducts health and safety assessments.
