Chris Masterman, MSN, RN, IBCLC is a social/clinical research specialist with the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI) in the Department of Maternal and Child Health. At CGBI, she serves as a breastfeeding specialist, clinical expert and technical assistance provider for multiple initiatives focusing on improving maternity care and breastfeeding outcomes.

Chris is a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with more than twenty years of experience as a maternal-newborn nurse and educator in her hometown of Muskegon, Michigan - where she served as an L&D/postpartum nurse, OB student nurse clinical instructor, Maternal Infant Health Program community nurse educator, lactation consultant, EMPower trainer and OB nurse educator.

Staff/Administrative Duties

 Chris provides coaching and technical assistance to hospitals and healthcare facilities in the Carolinas to improve maternity care practices and breastfeeding outcomes.
