Staff/Administrative Duties

Carol Gunther-Mohr serves as the North Carolina Institute of Public Health manager of operations and quality improvement, focused on implementing the strategic vision and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. She works with the management team to develop and implement processes for business development, internal and external communications and project management.

Prior to this position, she served as project manager for the North Carolina Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Center for 6 years.  She managed the day-to-day operations of the Center with an annual budget of $1.7 million and more than 40 research staff. Her role before the work at the Center was to coordinate the development of a variety of training programs at the UNC Center for Public Health Preparedness (CPHP) at the North Carolina Institute of Public Health. She has assisted with workforce development initiatives, distance-learning materials on a variety of preparedness topics, and grant writing and manuscript preparation. Prior to coming to CPHP, she worked with other UNC projects including a national injury and violence prevention training program and a nationwide evaluation study on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
