About

Caitlin Edwards works as a research specialist with Dr. Ralph Baric to characterize emerging coronaviruses. Her research has included work with MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and SADS-CoV to understand factors that play a role in highly pathogenic respiratory virus disease phenotypes in both in vitro and in vivo models. Notable studies Caitlin has been involved with have primarily included the testing of wild-type and mutant virus strains in various models such as human primary cells, organoid models, and mouse models to identify and illustrate the infectious profile and host response of these emerging viruses.
