Two ESE Students receive Bunker Awards for 2005

The Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering is pleased to announce two Bunker Awards were given to ESE students in 2005. This year’s awardees are Aaron D. Archer (MSEE, Singer Advisor) and Kimberly (Kim) W. Pickett (MSEE, Flynn Advisor).Aaron previously won a Merit Assistantship from the Graduate School and an Okun Fellowship. Aaron presented a paper at the 2004 AWWA conference and will present another at the June conference. He currently has a paper submitted for peer review at AWWA. Kim is a top student, done an outstanding job on her research and is co-author on a paper submitted to Aerosol Science and Technology. The Bunker Award was established in honor of Dr. George C. Bunker, a sanitary engineer and benefactor of the University of North Carolina and is given annually by the Department to the Master’s degree candidate in environmental engineering who shows the most outstanding scholarship and professional promise. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in the MSEE program. S/he has graduated the previous August or December or will graduate in May or August.
