The diversity orientation connects new UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health students from diverse backgrounds and experiences to School and campus-wide resources. Several sessions will be available to assist students in transitioning to a new chapter in life. A continental breakfast will be served.

Carolina Summer Reading Program at Gillings

The Gillings School of Global Public Health is sponsoring facilitated book discussion groups that sync up with the new student Carolina Summer Reading Program that happens on the broader UNC campus every year.  The UNC book selection is “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande;  a book that has the potential to change medicine and lives.  Read more about this award –winning author and book who has also been a commencement speaker!

 Please register to participate in a discussion session.  Discussions sessions will be held between August 29th and September 12th.  This is a great way to engage with new and returning students, faculty and staff in the Gillings community.

 Carolina Community members can purchase the book from the Bull’s Head Bookshop in Student Stores for $15.60, 40% off the list price.
