Research and Innovation Solutions, in collaboration with other School and University units, offers a variety of resources and services to facilitate research for the School’s researchers. The following is an overview of the many resources and services available.

Our Commitment to Research Ethics
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is committed to expanding and disseminating knowledge for the benefit of the people of North Carolina and the world. An important part of that commitment to knowledge is research of the highest ethical standards. Learn more.

Required Research Trainings: 

  1. Conflict of Interest Training: All UNC School of Public Health faculty, staff, and students must complete COI training.  For more information, see COI Policy
  2. Ethics Training: All UNC faculty, staff, and students participating in research involving human subjects or identifiable data from human subjects must complete IRB CITI Ethics training.
  3. Animal Research Training: All UNC faculty, staff, and students participating in research involving live vertebrae animals are required to register for training with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
