School leaders welcome new faculty members, announce promotions

Gillings School of Global Public Health representatives have announced new faculty members and faculty promotions for the period July 2012 to Feb. 1, 2013.
Promotions during the period include:

  • Gregory Characklis, PhD, professor of environmental sciences and engineering, effective July 1, 2012;
  • Penny Gordon-Larsen, PhD, professor of nutrition, effective Feb. 1;
  • Jessica Lee, PhD, professor of health policy and management (and pediatric dentistry), effective July 1, 2012;
  • Audrey Pettifor, PhD, associate professor of epidemiology, effective Sept. 1, 2012;
  • Paul Stewart, PhD, research professor of biostatistics, effective Sept. 1, 2012; and
  • Melissa Troester, PhD, associate professor of epidemiology, effective Sept. 1, 2012.

New faculty members are:

  • Sonia Davis, DrPH, Professor of the Practice of biostatistics, effective Oct. 1, 2012;
  • Stacie Dusetzina, PhD, research assistant professor of health policy and management, effective Aug. 1, 2012;
  • Temitope Erinosho, PhD, research assistant professor of nutrition, effective July 1, 2012;
  • Valerie Flax, PhD, research assistant professor of nutrition, effective July 23, 2012;
  • Yufeng Liu, PhD, associate professor of biostatistics, effective Nov. 1, 2012;
  • Leslie Lytle, PhD, professor of health behavior, effective Dec. 1, 2012;
  • Katie Meyer, ScD, research assistant professor of nutrition, effective July 1, 2012;
  • Christopher Shea, PhD, assistant professor of health policy and management, effective July 1, 2012; and
  • Courtney Woods, PhD, lecturer in environmental sciences and engineering, effective Sept. 1, 2012.
