Susan Randolph

Susan Randolph, MSN, RN, received the Occupational Health Nurse of the Year award and Medique Leadership Award at the annual meeting of the North Carolina Association of Occupational Health Nurses, held Oct. 26-28, in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. The awards are presented each year to association members who have demonstrated excellence in the field.

Randolph is clinical assistant professor in UNC’s Occupational Health Nursing Program, part of the Gillings School of Global Public Health’s Public Health Leadership Program. A past recipient of the nursing association’s Cleo H. Everhart Occupational Health Nurse of the Year Award, she was appointed in April 2011 by President Obama and United States Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis to the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.

“I was very honored to receive these leadership awards,” Randolph said. “I love occupational health nursing and the opportunities it provides at all levels – local, state, and national.”

“We are fortunate to have Susan as part of our Public Health Leadership Program,” said Anna Schenck, PhD, program director and associate dean for practice at the public health school. “We are pleased she has been recognized with these awards.”
