Research activities

Dr. Combs’ research focuses on the mechanisms that control the body’s production of glucose. Impaired control of glucose production is linked to diabetes, cancer and aging process. A gene that lowers glucose production was recently discovered in Dr. Combs’ lab. The function and therapeutic potential of this gene is the current focus of the Combs lab.
