Research activities


  • Behavioral scientist with over 25 years of experience conducting research in the area of patient/public health education
  • A hallmark of my research has been the application of behavioral science theories to better understand health behavior and the mechanisms through which intervention effects are obtained.
  • Past research includes examinations of: the effect of risk perceptions on colorectal cancer screening; the roles that stress and coping processes play in adaptation to arthritis; and the use of stage theories to better understand behavior change within the context of osteoporosis prevention, including the prevention of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis.
