Research activities

Dr. Allicock’s research focuses on cancer prevention and control with an emphasis on cancer-related health disparities in minority populations. Dr. Allicock has extensive expertise in conducting health promotion research with faith-based organizations, behaviors related to cancer risk reduction, and the development of culturally sensitive tailored communications. Her work includes developing and assessing peer support strategies to impact weight management for veterans. An emerging area of research interest is evaluating the dissemination of evidence-based research. She is currently leading several efforts to evaluate Body & Soul, a faith based health initiative for African American churches, and is the Co-Principal investigator for the e-WATCH project, a church-based cancer prevention study.
