  • Current work is focused on
    • the growing epidemic of prescription drug overdose
    • the on-going challenge of changing social norms around intimate partner violence
  • Conducts several studies of prescription drug abuse and overdose, including
    • a randomized controlled trial of an intervention to reduce drug seeking behaviors in emergency departments
    • an evaluation of NC’s prescription drug monitoring program
  • Violence prevention efforts are focused on the evaluation of a bystander intervention developed by UNC-CH students and staff
