  • Research focuses on the relationships among family, migration, and social policy, with an emphasis on racial disparities in health and education
  • Integrating both economic and sociological models, she studies ways to improve the well-being of immigrant youth through our understanding of the contexts in which they live and their health, education, and labor market experiences
  • Serves as advisory committee member or on the board of directors for national task forces, local non-profit organizations, and state agencies seeking to improve the provision of services to Hispanic populations and immigrants
