Juhaeri Juhaeri, Ph.D., is Vice President and Head of Epidemiology and Benefit-Risk at Sanofi. Dr. Juhaeri is an Epidemiologist and Statistician with over 20 year experience in epidemiologic research in academia and in pharmaceutical industry. He joined Sanofi in 2001 where he established a Real World Data system for epidemiologic research and signal detection. He has been leading various public-private partnership projects in the fields of Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology, as well as quantitative Benefit-Risk Methods and signal detection. He was a member of the Steering Committee of IMI PROTECT Project, a European Consortium on Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology, and a leader of one of the case studies to evaluate various Benefit-Risk methods. He is Industry Lead of Methods Working Group in IMI-PREFER, a project on patient preferences in Benefit-Risk Assessments during the Drug Life Cycle. 

Dr. Juhaeri completed his doctoral degree in epidemiology at UNC in 1999. While at UNC, his research interests included the causes and consequences of obesity, cardiovascular disease and epidemiology methods. He also was involved in various research projects including ARIC and Pathways studies. He has continued his collaborations with UNC through various UNC–Sanofi projects related to obesity, cardiovascular disease, insulin and cancer. His primary research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, advanced epidemiology methods, benefit–risk methods, risk management, data mining and signal detection.
