  • Aging

  • Research focuses on interpersonal influences on disease self-management for persons living with chronic illnesses, such as arthritis, vcasculitis, and asthma
  • Particularly interested in patient-provider communication; studying how triadic communicaiton patterns amonth children with asthma, their caregivers, and their health care providers influence children’s medication adherence and asthma control

Primary Research areas

    • Designing and testing evidence-based health promotion programs for older adults
    • Conducting program evaluation of evidence-based health promotion programs
    • Building community provider capacity in health promotion programming
