Social ecologist with 24+ years community-based intervention research on chronic disease prevention. Expertise in application of:

  • social influence/communication theories to develop health messages and behavior change programs
  • public health practice models to design individual, group, and community-level interventions
  • qualitative and quantitative methods to develop data collection tools and to conduct formative, process, and outcome evaluations

  • Parenting strategies for prevention of child health risk outcomes
  • Effects of youth media use on health risk outcomes
  • Use of health communication theory to improve the effectiveness of planned health interventions
