Research activities


  • Currently works with the Johnston County Osteoarthritis Project (JoCo), a 20-year, ongoing epidemiological study of osteoarthritis in African-Americans and whites in rural NC
  • One primary role is facilitating the use of the extensive archived data from this study for faculty, post-docs, and students interested in completing secondary analyses with these data
  • JoCo has collected genetic, epidemiological, clinical, radiographic, psychosocial, behavioral and dietary data making it a rich reservoir for comprehensive analyses
  • In terms of health research, has worked as a project director, collaborator and (now) as a senior research specialist

  • Project Management (enrollment strategies, Institutional Review Board, etc.)
  • Osteoarthritis (epidemiology, psychosocial and behavioral)
