Workforce Development Specialist
Avia Mainor, MPH is a Workforce Development Specialist at the North Carolina Institute for Public Health. Ms. Mainor coordinates a variety of workforce development initiatives for public health professionals from local, state and national human services sectors, with a particular emphasis on collaborations with local and state governmental public health agencies.
Prior to joining the NCIPH, Avia was an Educational Consultant and Training Unit Director for the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention where she spent over twelve years assessing training needs and developing tailored trainings for state-level public health practitioners working in chronic disease prevention programs.
Avia, is a die-hard Carolina fan. When she is not cheering for the TARHEELS, she enjoys reading, running and spending time with her eight nieces and nephews.
