About

Alexis Moore contributes to research on gender-based violence. One study she works on, called Courts Applying Solutions to End Intimate Partner Violence, identifies factors associated with domestic violence protective order denial rates in North Carolina. Another study partners researchers with community agencies to evaluate a rape prevention education program.

In addition to violence prevention, Moore’s work has addressed promoting guideline concordant cancer screening and survivorship care and the role of community health workers in health promotion.

Prior to joining the Department of Health Behavior staff in January 2016, Moore was project director of the Carolina Heart Alliance Networking for Greater Equity and of UNC’s collaborating site in the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network. For many years she has worked closely with community organizations and research teams from across campus to generate practice-based evidence and also support adaptation and implementation of research-tested interventions in communities.
