Office of Student Affairs Hosts Orientations
| On behalf of the Gillings School of Global Public Health, the Office of Student Affairs will host several orientation/welcome programs for new and returning students. We start the week off with a Supporting Diversity at SPH orientation on Saturday, August 22, 2009. This event will be held in Rosenau 235 from 9:30am to 3:15pm. This event will help students from various groups (e.g., students of color, international students, LGBTQ students, students with families or students who have been out of school for more than 10 years) connect to each other and to related resources. Early Monday morning, August 24, 2009, students from across departments will gather in the Michael Hooker Research Center Atrium at 8:00 am for a continental breakfast and then join Dean Barbara Rimer and other senior leaders for a School-wide Welcome which will be from 8:30 to 9:15am. Student leaders will also be on hand to welcome new students. We’ll end the week with a BSPH Welcome/Welcome Back event held on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Undergraduate students from all four departments (Biostatistics, Environmental Health Science, Health Policy and Management and Nutrition) will meet in Blue Cross Blue Shield Auditorium (Michael Hooker Research Center 0001) at 5:15 pm. This event will give undergraduates a chance to meet Dean Rimer and other Deans of the School in a small, intimate setting. They will also have a chance to meet the Directors of the four programs.
