The Administrative Core is responsible for the overall business administration and daily management of the NORC.

The Administrative Core sets the overall direction of the NORC and ensures optimal utilization of all Center resources. The Core provides scientific leadership, research oversight, budgetary management, and administrative support for the research center.  In addition to being the supportive structure of the NORC, the Administrative Core is also responsible for:

  • Managing and organizing the activities of the internal and external advisory committees
  • Promoting the techniques, methodologies, instrumentation, and resources offered by the core facilities
  • Supporting the integration of bioinformatics, biostatistics, clinical research, and metabolomics into clinical and translational research
  • Administering the Pilot & Feasibility program to support investigators exploring new and innovative research concepts in nutrition and obesity
  • Coordinating enrichment activities, including seminars, conferences, community outreach, and training opportunities
  • Facilitating communication and fostering collaborations among research base members
  • Increasing the visibility of the NORC within the scientific and lay communities
  • Being the central point of contact for the Center and is the liaison between the NORC, the university, and the community
