Steve Orton conducted a training session for new health directors on the relationship between community health assessment and strategic planning (resources available), and worked with a joint session of the Environmental Health and Public Health Leadership Sections on managing conflict (pictured right). Steve and a group of facilitators, including Dorothy Cilenti, held a roundtable session that resulted in ideas for building leadership across NCPHA.

Anna Schenck presented “Measuring the Return on Investment in Public Health” and distributed a research brief “Measuring Outcomes for NC Local Health Departments: Preliminary Results“.

Kasey Decosimo presented two posters: “Enhancing training and resources for local health department preparedness staff with the NC Preparedness Coordinators Online Toolkit” and “Using disaster assessment methodology as an approach to collect data for community health assessments in Wake County, North Carolina“.

Dorothy Cilenti┬ápresented “Factors Contributing to Successful Implementation of Evidence-Based Public Health Practice: Findings from Case Studies of Four Local Health Departments“.
