Leatt reappointed as chair of health policy and administration

Dr. Peggy Leatt has been reappointed for a second term as chair of the Department of Health Policy and Administration, Dean Barbara K. Rimer announced today. A professor in the department since 2002, Leatt began her first term as chair the following year. She also has served as the School’s associate dean for academic affairs since 2005. A peer committee, chaired by Dr. Herbert Peterson, chair of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, recommended to the dean that Leatt continue in the position. “Peggy is a great asset to this School and to the University, as well,” Dean Rimer said. “She is a highly experienced leader with international credentials. She is devoted to our missions of teaching, research and service and is especially skilled in nurturing and mentoring junior faculty members. Dr. Leatt’s department is exemplary in many areas but especially in its development of innovative teaching programs.” “I am delighted to be appointed to a second term,” Leatt said. “It is a pleasure to work with–and know I have the support of–such outstanding faculty, staff and students.” Leatt’s reappointment is effective until 2013.
