Janne Boone awarded the Sandra Winn Green scholarship for 2008
| Janne Boone is the recipient of the Sandra Winn Green Scholarship for 2008, which awards an outstanding student at the School of Public Health demonstrated by strong academic ability and practice experience, and demonstrated potential to contribute to the field of public health.
Ms. Boone has been incredibly productive at UNC, with two publications in print, another two under review, and five in draft form at the time of nomination for the award. Her list of publications has grown since then! Her dissertation will make important strides in terms of substantive findings, as well as several major methodological innovations (including strategies to control for residential selectivity bias in the relationship between environmental exposures and health outcomes), that will contribute substantially to obesity research.
