HPM Alumnus receives the 2010 Humanitarian Award from the 50 States and DC Marathon Group USA

Richard Holmes, PhD ’93, was recognized by the 50 States and D.C. Marathon Group U.S.A. on December 30, 2009 for the time and energy he put forth to raise awareness of and funding for childhood cancer. For his 200th marathon, Holmes chose to support the Maynard Childhood Cancer Foundation, a foundation that funds research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of childhood cancers, supports quality of life programs for cancer patients and their families, and raises public awareness of childhood cancer. Holmes participated in this milestone marathon on April 25, 2009 and raised a total of $10,000, surpassing his original goal by $3,000.
