Dr. Wheeler uses mathematical modeling and systems thinking in her work to eliminate health disparities and improve access to care for vulnerable populations, particularly as applied to breast, colorectal, ovarian, and cervical cancer care and reproductive/sexual health care. Read More

Dr. Wheeler’s research focuses on addressing complex health services questions through the study of cost-effectiveness and comparative effectiveness, health outcomes measurement and advanced econometrics. In addition to cancer, her interests also include global health, HIV/AIDS, social epidemiology and understanding and improving access to care.

Dr. Wheeler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) where she received her PhD in 2010. She earned her MPH degree with Honors distinction from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
