World of Difference Dinner
The World of Difference Dinner is a gala held each fall to honor alumni and friends who give to the School and celebrate the professors, students and programs that benefit from their generosity. Invited guests include members of the School’s Cornerstone Society, Rosenau Society and UNC’s Gerrard Legacy Society, as well as benefactors who have endowed scholarships or professorships, or have named parts of the building or established specialty funds.
The name says it all — your gifts to the School do make a world of difference. They provide scholarships for the next generation of public health leaders. They retain renowned faculty members to teach and conduct cutting-edge research. They allow us to undertake a number of special projects to maintain our standing as the leading public school of public health.
The 2013 World of Difference Dinner, which was held on Nov. 21, coincided with Global Entrepreneurship Week, giving us an opportunity to highlight the inventions and entrepreneurial endeavors of our students and faculty members. David Gura, Washington correspondent from NPR’s Marketplace, served as our master of ceremonies.
We hope to see you for the 2014 World of Difference Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 6!
